Terms of Use
Last updated: 11 June 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of GlutenScanner App(“the App”), operated by Jesper, an independent developer (“we”, “us”). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Important: not medical advice
GlutenScanner is an informational tool and a helpful guide only. Its results are based on community-sourced data from Open Food Facts, which may be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect. Product formulations and labelling also change over time.
Always read the physical product label and packaging before consuming a product. The App does not provide medical advice and is not a substitute for professional guidance. If you have coeliac disease, a gluten allergy, or any other medical condition, consult a qualified healthcare professional and rely on official product labelling — not solely on the App — when making decisions about what is safe for you to eat. You use the App and its results at your own risk.
2. License to use the App
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your own non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms and the App Store's terms. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, resell, or distribute the App except as permitted by law.
3. Free scans and subscriptions
- The App includes a limited number of free scans. After they are used, continued access to scanning may require a paid subscription.
- Subscriptions are billed through your Apple App Store account. Payment is charged to your account at confirmation of purchase.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple ID account settings. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
- Prices are shown in the App before purchase and may vary by region and over time.
4. Acceptable use
You agree to use the App lawfully and not to misuse it, interfere with its operation, attempt to circumvent its free-trial limits, or use it in any way that could harm us or other users.
5. Third-party data and content
Product information is provided by the Open Food Facts community and is made available under the Open Database License (ODbL). We do not control or guarantee the accuracy of this data. The App also relies on third-party services (such as Apple and Superwall), whose own terms apply.
6. Disclaimer of warranties
The App is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability. We do not warrant that the App will be error-free or that the product data will be accurate or complete.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any harm, illness, or loss arising from your reliance on the App's results. Because the App is a guide only, you remain responsible for verifying product suitability via the official label.
8. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above when we do. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Denmark, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
